Choirs

The choirs of Christ Lutheran Church serve as leaders of the people’s song, helping the congregation share God’s story musically through prayer, praise and proclamation.

Anyone is welcome to join our ensembles, you do not have to be a member of Christ Lutheran to participate. If you are interested in joining a choir, please reach out to Director of Music, Kevin Gane

Adult Choir

The Christ Lutheran Church Choir is a dynamic and inclusive ensemble that joyfully leads worship. As a non-auditioned mixed-voiced group, we welcome singers of all levels of experience and skill. With a diverse repertoire that encompasses both traditional and modern compositions, the choir adds depth and beauty to each worship service. Additionally, they share their musical talents at Music on High events throughout the year, bringing their harmonious voices to the wider community. The choir's primary focus is to serve as the musical leadership in worship, creating a sacred atmosphere and guiding congregants in heartfelt praise and reflection. Youth Choir

The Youth Choir at our church is a vibrant and inclusive group open to students in 6th to 12th grade. With a passion for music and worship, they come together to lead worship approximately once a month from September to April. In addition to learning music for worship, the Youth Choir develops their musicianship skills, learning basic music concepts and choral techniques. They also delve into the rich history of church music within the Lutheran tradition, deepening their understanding of the musical heritage. As part of their journey, the Youth Choir showcases their talents during the annual Festival of Music, a significant event in the Music on High program. Joining the Youth Choir offers young singers an incredible opportunity to grow as musicians, explore their faith through music, and contribute to the vibrant worship community of our church.

Joyful Noise

Joyful Noise is an engaging and enriching music program designed for children from Kindergarten through 5th grade. It seamlessly combines Bible study and music education to create a holistic learning experience. Through singing, playing instruments, and exploring handbells, the students will not only develop a solid foundation in music concepts but also delve into the stories and teachings of the Bible. Joyful Noise offers a nurturing environment where children can grow spiritually and musically. They have the opportunity to showcase their newfound skills by singing once a month from September to March, sharing their joyful voices with the congregation. Joining Joyful Noise is an exciting way for children to discover the beauty of music, deepen their understanding of the Bible, and find a sense of belonging within our church community.

Handbells

Adult

The Adult Handbell Choir is a harmonious and inclusive ensemble that brings melodic enchantment to our worship services. Meeting once a month to ring during the prelude, this dedicated group embraces the art of handbell ringing with passion and dedication. Our rehearsals focus on learning basic literature, honing music skills, and mastering handbell techniques. While music reading skills are not required, they are encouraged. Whether you are a seasoned musician or a beginner, the Adult Handbell Choir welcomes individuals who desire to create beautiful music together. Joining this remarkable group provides an opportunity to develop your musical talents, forge connections with fellow musicians, and contribute to the spiritual atmosphere of our church community.

Youth

The Youth Handbell Choir is a dynamic ensemble that showcases the musical talents of our students grades 6th through 12th. With a commitment to excellence, this group rings once a month during the prelude, adding a melodic touch to our worship services. In our rehearsals, we focus on learning beginning ringing techniques, developing music skills such as reading sheet music, and fostering the ability to play harmoniously as an ensemble. The Youth Handbell Choir provides a nurturing environment for students to explore their musical potential while also fostering leadership skills. Through opportunities for directing and conducting, young musicians can take on roles of leadership and gain valuable experience in guiding their peers. Joining the Youth Handbell Choir offers an engaging platform for growth, collaboration, and creative expression, enriching the musical journey of our talented youth within the church community.

  • Cantors

    Introducing a new tradition to our congregation, our cantering system provides an exciting opportunity for individuals who have a desire to lead worship but may not be able to commit to singing full-time in the choir. This program allows them to take on the role of guiding the musical aspects of our services when the choir is not present. Drawing inspiration from the long-standing tradition of the Lutheran Church, our cantering system embraces the essence of musical leadership within the context of worship. Participants in this program will have the honor of leading congregants in hymns, psalms, and other musical elements, creating a sacred atmosphere during these special services. Joining the cantering system is a wonderful way to contribute to our worship experience, fostering a sense of community and devotion through the power of music.   • Instrumentalists

    Calling all talented instrumentalists in our congregation! We are inviting you to share your musical gifts and be a part of our worship experience. We are seeking volunteer instrumentalists who can provide special music during the prelude and offertory time, as well as accompany hymns and other liturgical music. Whether you play the piano, organ, guitar, violin, flute, or any other instrument, your contributions will add a unique and uplifting dimension to our worship services. If you are interested in being involved and sharing your instrumental talents with the congregation, please reach out our Director of Music. We would be delighted to have you as an integral part of our musical ministry.
